Most of us are wonderful people, but some may look a little funny outside.  For a proper fit we need to adjust basic patterns for your personal measurements.  Accurate measurements are very important, even with loose fitting buckskin clothing.

Do NOT take measurements from current clothing.  Modern clothing is cut different than buckskin clothing, and old buckskins have undoubtedly stretched out of shape and size.  Rarely can anyone accurately take all their own measurements, so we advise having someone else do the measuring.  {Sure, go ahead and have fun.  Just don't forget the measurements!}

Product Measurement Measuring Instructions Msrmnt
Breechclouts: Width With feet 6" (15 cm) apart measure at groin level from the front center of one thigh to the front center of the other thigh ______
Groin Measure from back waist level, down and under crotch, and up to front waist level. ______
Length Measure from your waist line down to the middle of your knee cap.  The 'clout won't be that long, but we'll do the necessary figuring. ______
Dresses:
(Skirts are noted below)
Dress Size What is comfortable for you.  NOT what you can squeeeeeze into. ______
Neck to Knee Measure from beside the neck where it meets the shoulder straight down to the center of your knee cap. ______
Neck to Elbow With arm hanging straight down along your side, measure from center front or back of neck ("Eve's Apple" or spinal cord) out to and over shoulder and down to the center of the elbow. ______
Head Circumference Measure around your head at the eyebrow level.  This is so we can be sure the neck/head hole is large enough. ______
Leggings:

Leggings are priced according to "Combined Inches".  To determine the Combined Inches for:
         {Men}  Add your 'Inseam' and 'Thigh Girth' measurements.
    {Women}  Add your 'Knee to Floor' and 'Calf Girth' measurements.

Outseam (men) At the side of your waist measure from top of pelvic bone straight down to the floor. ______
Inseam (men) Along inside of leg measure from groin level down to floor. ______
Heel-Arch Girth From lower back of the heel, measure up around arch of the foot and down other side of foot back to starting point on heel. ______
Thigh Girth At the groin level, measure around the thigh. ______
Calf Girth Measure around the heaviest part of your calf. ______
Knee to Floor From middle of knee cap, measure down to the floor. ______
Pants: Waist Measure around your body at the level where you normally wear your belt. ______
Outseam At side of waist measure from top of pelvic bone down to the floor. ______
Inseam Along inside of leg measure from groin level down to floor. ______
Knee to Floor From middle of knee cap, measure down to the floor. ______
Rifle cases: Muzzle to Lock Keeping parallel with the barrel, measure from the most forward point (i.e., muzzle or ramrod) back to touch hole or nipple. ______
Shirt, Jackets, or Coats: Chest Measure around the body at the level of you nipples (yeah, guys have 'em too, but they don't do anything for most of us). ______
Neck Measure around the neck at its base. ______
Neck to WAist Measure from beside the neck where it meets the shoulder straight down and level with the navel ("belly button"). ______
Neck to WRist With arm hanging straight down along your side, measure from center front or back of neck ("Adam's Apple" or spinal cord) out to and over shoulder and down to wrist where you want the sleeve to end. ______
Head Circumference (For Pullover type shirts only)  Measure around your head at the eyebrow level.  This is so we can be sure the neck/head hole is large enough. ______
Skirts: Dress Size What is comfortable for you.  NOT what you can squeeeeze into. ______
Waist Measure around the body just above the pelvic bone. ______
Hips Halfway between your waist and groin, measure the distance around the body. ______
Waist to Knee Measure from your navel ("belly button") straight down to the center of your knee cap. ______
